New On-line Training Course Released PDF Print E-mail

The replacement to New Leader Essentials (NLE) has been released. "This Is Scouting" has been uploaded to www.olc.scouting.org. The Council Training Committee is currently reviewing “This is Scouting” so that they can make the decision about when to discontinue teaching NLE. Everyone is incouraged to log on and take this new training. It should take about 1 hour to complete depending on your download speed.

 

Also, you will find that the links to "Climb on Safely" and "Trek Safely" are now available as well. There is a new resource available for leadership training called "TLT" or "Troop Leadership Training" availible on the National Website or you can download it below.

 

As always remember to pirnt TWO copies of you e-learning certificate one for your recoeds and, one to turn in at roundtable to your District Training Chair or your District Executive.

Wood Badge Home Beef Stew is this Thursday night, March 19th, 2009 at the NEW Schiewetz Leadership Training Center. The cost is $10.00 at the door. All registered Scouters are invited to attend and learn more about Wood Badge. Past Wood Badge participants are invited to attend for a reunion.There will be a silent auction of scout memorabilia, proceeds to go to the Wood Badge Scholarship fund. So bring your checkbooks!

Wood Badge for the 21st century is for all leaders in the Boy Scouts of America. It has been developed for Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Varsity Scout and Venturing leaders, as well as council and district leaders. The course content and leadership principles introduced apply to Scouters of all leadership positions and will provide a common foundation of leadership skills to be used throughout all program areas.

Each Scouter participating in Wood Badge training must be a registered member of the Boy Scouts of America and have completed the basic training courses for their Scouting position. They must successfully complete a BSA class 3 physical.

Since 1948, the Wood Badge course has served as a source of training and inspiration to thousands of leaders. These Scouters have affected the lives of millions of America’s youth in a quality Boy Scout program of citizenship training, character development, and fitness.

The Troop Committee has changed the date for the March Committee Meeting. This month's meeting will be moved to Saturday, March 14 imeadiately following Scouting for Food Bag Drop-off. The meeting will be held at the scout cabin located at 12945 Manning Rd.

Calling all adult leaders; come join us for fun, fellowship, and training all in one day on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at the Tipp City Middle School. This year’s wide variety of topics covers everything from basic training to the world wide web. Sit in on as many sessions as you like; keep in mind that some training requires more than one session to complete; or browse the Midway. The “Early Bird” registration fee is just $20.00, if you register and pay by April 11, 2009. Registration after April 11, 2009 or at the door will be $30.00. The registration fee covers your lunch, patch, and a CD. Plan to arrive early and help the Order of the Arrow, Miami Lodge 495 support our local council camps by attending their Annual Pancake Breakfast.  See you on April 25!!!!!!!
